IHCC MGA Special Election Form

The MGA Board has updated and revised the association bylaws, which had not been updated in many years. The Board has approved the updates and revisions. To vote, please select FOR or AGAINST, select your name from the drop down, and then click the Vote button.

      Summary of Proposed Changes to IHMGA Bylaws
Article V would provide that on matters to be voted upon by members, approval shall be by a simple majority of the votes cast.
Article IV, Para. 7 would eliminate the requirement that minutes of the previous meeting be read at meetings of the general membership.
Article V, Para. 5 would be modified so that a member of the Board may be removed, rather than must be removed, for any of the designated reasons.
Article V, Para. 13 would change the order of business at Board meetings to be determined by the Board and, only if the Board cannot agree upon the order of business, then by Roberts Rules of Order.
Article V, Para. 12 would allow for notice to Directors be by e-mail transmission.
Article V, Para. 16 would eliminate the following Board committees: Membership, Marketing and Communications, Rules and Grounds, and Social, and would add the following Board committees: Monthly Tournaments, Major Tournaments (Member/Member and Member Guest), and Club Championship/MGA Championship.
Article VI, Para. 5(C) would make marketing and communications the responsibility of the MGA Vice President.
Article VI, Para. 5(E) would eliminate the requirement that two officers sign checks, and would allow the Treasurer or other officer authorized by the Board to sign checks.
Article VIII, Para. 1 would require that rules and regulations adopted by the Board be posted on the web site, and not just the bulletin board.
Article VIII, Para. 4 would eliminate the use of funds to print and mail ballots and by-law changes.
Article VIII, Para. 5 would allow the Board to expend income from dues for the benefit of the association, and its members.
Article VIII, Para. 4 would add the Medal Play Tournament as an MGA event open to all eligible club members.

THE MGA BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS REVIEWED THE PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE BYLAWS AND RECOMMENDS APPROVAL BY THE MEMBERSHIP AT-LARGE.
